Shoot To Thrill - Part 2
WOW!
Last night I delivered a themed workshop on 'Dreams & Aspirations' to the participants of the 'Shoot To Thrill' project. It was part of the personal development aspect of the course and even though the issues are very abstract, the young people embraced and participated fully in the activities set.
Using multi-media approaches and the usual group and individual work, I really challenged them to consider the good and bad aspects of dreams whilst allowing them the space to explore and discuss how to make their dreams a reality.
I am constantly amazed by the level of emotional maturity and intellectual capacity of young people to tackle and discuss issues such as bullying, bereavement, piercing, drugs, respect, disease, poverty, etc., all raised and explored within the context of this session.
I LOVE MY JOB!
It's stasis that kills you off in the end, not ambition.
